Ernest Intros BlueStar Unified Communications Service

Competitive service provider Ernest Communications has joined the hosted services world with the introduction of its own unified communications (UC) product, called Bluestar.

“For several years weve watched and waited for the VoIP phenomenon to reach the critical juncture where quality and affordability intersect,” said Paul Masters, president of Ernest. “We believe that moment has now arrived, and we are prepared to assist our clients usher in the next generation of communication and collaboration technologies.”

Bluestar is scalable and comes in several forms:  

  • Bluestar Indigo: SIP Trunking. This version lets Ernest tie in to an existing, premise-based PBX system but lets the client use hosted VoIP among all locations for features such as extension dialing among offices and free interoffice calling.
  • Bluestar Oxford: Basic Business License Pack. This comes with fully hosted VoIP and targets users requiring features such as authentication, call waiting and three-way calling.
  • Bluestar Cobalt: Enterprise License Pack. This mid-level product includes all of the Oxford features as well as additional ones. It is made for organizations without premised-based equipment, and can be used for onsite and remote workers.
  • Bluestar Royal: Advanced License Pack. This edition is Ernest’s premium enterprise service; it provides fixed-mobile convergence. Hosted VoIP support more than 50 calling features and mobile workers may tie all devices to one business phone number. Functionality includes simultaneous ring, sequential ring, alternate numbers and shared call appearance.

Add-ons include advanced auto-attendant; voicemail; receptionist console; call center service; and hosted Microsoft OCS, including LiveMeeting and SharePoint.
