StartMeeting, the new sister company of FreeConferenceCall.com, got its official launch this week, after debuting at the Spring 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.
Monthly costs start at $19.95 for 50 people, making StartMeeting a less expensive alternative to competitors such as WebEx and GoToMeeting. Agents earn commissions of between 25 percent and 35 percent, depending on the rates they offer to their customers. Access options include toll, toll-free, and an integrated high-definition VoIP platform. Pricing ranges from .029 to .039 cents per minute for toll-free access.
Features include cloud-based recording, with the ability to share files on Facebook; reservationless calls; permanent and exclusive credentials for meeting hosts; screen sharing; the ability to mute and lock calls and hold Q&A sessions; and customizable hold music and greetings for participants. There’s also Meeting Wall, where end-users personalize colors, logos and profile photos. Hosts can upload files and Web links, and manage recorded conferences.
All sign-ups are conducted online and leverage a proprietary promotional code system, granting agents unparalleled pricing flexibility to meet their customers needs, with over 80 program options,” Greg Plum, StartMeetings vice president of channel development, told Channel Partners in March.
Plum joined StartMeeting from The Conference Group, where he led partner efforts there.
