Master agency Telarus Inc. announced Thursday it has entered into an exclusive agreement with NewCloud Networks, enabling its partners to sell virtual servers, backup and disaster recovery, hosted Microsoft Exchange, virtual desktop, cloud PBX and managed IT services to their small, midmarket, and enterprise customers in the United States and Canada.
NewCloud President Sam Kumar rolled out the services to Telarus partners Thursday at the Telarus Partner Summit in Park City, Utah.
“This new exclusive agreement with Telarus will provide ample opportunity for each of us to focus on areas of our core strength,” Kumar said in a press statement. “For NewCloud, it’s technical expertise and engineering know-how. Telarus will bring their marketing knowledge and massive distribution network of over 1,200 independent sales partners. We look forward to working together with them.”
Telarus President Adam Edwards said the exclusive partnership will help support the master agency’s go-forward focus on cloud.
“This tight level of engagement means that Telarus agents will have access to a full-time cloud sales engineer who will office in our Salt Lake City office with the rest of our staff,” Edwards said. “Having that resource in place for our agent partners will help us make fantastic inroads selling IT solutions into our agent’s massive base of existing customers.”
NewCloud has dedicated senior sales engineer Richard Chiara to the Telarus channel.
The partnership also means that Telarus has worked closely with NewCloud to create an agent-friendly cloud program, said Telarus co-founder Patrick Oborn.
“IT is central to every business in existence, but that doesn’t mean our traditional partners feel confident enough to sell it,” Oborn said. “NewCloud Networks is going to provide us with ‘cloud sales training wheels’ so that we can engage our customers with confidence, knowing we’ve got help close by. Add to that the compensation model that telecom agents are familiar with and you have a recipe for success for a very high percentage of partners making the pivot.”
Kumar said the residual commission will be 14-16 percent on NewCloud services.
NewCloud Networks will be holding weekly cloud training Webinars that will rotate through the core products and services, including: virtual servers, virtual desktops, backup and disaster recovery, hosted Exchange, IT managed services and cloud communications.
In business since 1988, NewCloud Networks has evolved from telecom and ISP services to cloud services provider and owns a SAS 70 data center that houses its virtual servers powered by both VMWare and Microsoft.
