Report Outs Microsoft’s Plans for Office Mobile Version

Microsoft has repeatedly said it won’t release a mobile version of its popular Office software this fall, but that isn’t stopping "insiders" who say that’s all smoke and mirrors.

Case in point: The latest is that the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant is planning to start selling Office for iPad and Android tablets in November, or so says an "inside source" who relayed that information to Boy Genius Report. That same source reportedly has seen Office tested on an iPad. MSFT has previously denied the authenticity of the app, which was previously leaked by another publication.

Microsoft’s Windows Phone mobile operating system is slowly starting to make some waves thanks to the company’s relatively new partnership with Nokia and its Lumia line of smartphones. If done right, Office for tablets could be another positive step for Microsoft in the mobile space.
