Call it what you will iPhone 5, sixth-generation iPhone, the next iPhone a new report indicates that the latest hardware update from Apple could come earlier than what most so-called industry experts are anticipating.
Component manufacturer Pegatron is said to have received orders for Apple’s next iPhone, and for those who prefer their Apple in tablet form, fellow Asia-based manufacturer Foxconn will reportedly make a 7-inch version of the iPad. So says Taiwan-based DigiTimes, which claims that the smaller iPad will be available in August and the new iPhone in September.
Pegatron is reported to be working on a new 10-inch iPad for Apple that will available in the fourth quarter of 2012, the report continued.
DigiTimes’ record, however, is a bit spotty. Let’s face it, two iPads in one calendar year seems like a stretch. The new iPhone prediction, however, seems a little more realistic; while most analysts expect it to arrive in October one year after the launch of the iPhone 4S some believe the announcement will come at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June, making an earlier release date make more sense than a later one.
