Latisys Goes Deeper Into Channel With WTG Partnership

IT outsourcing company Latisys is making good on recent plans to expand its new Partner Pathways Program.

On Thursday, Latisys, a provider of cloud and hosted services, said it has added master agency WTG to Partner Pathways. WTG says it sells through more than 2,500 consultants, VARs and agents; that number gives Latisys deep reach into the channel. Meanwhile, WTG has dubbed Latisys a premier partner.

Latisys debuted Partner Pathways at the Spring 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo. Less than a month after that launch, Latisys is teaming with WTG, giving agents and VARs the ability to sell IT services including managed services (load balancing, firewall, security and more), colocation and cloud infrastructure to enterprises.

Earlier this year, Latisys told Channel Partners the company engages end users at multiple levels. For example, some assets are dedicated, others are virtualized and still others live in the cloud. For partners, then, pitching these options means going beyond traditional sales approaches and understanding how to help customer solve business problems. Latisys said it aims to empower partners to take a solutions focus.

Indeed, support from both Latisys and WTG should give agents and VARs the ability to implement that strategy. For its part, WTG provides channel managers, online tools and back-office systems.

The partnership with Latisys is a big addition for WTG, which has worked steadily over the past year to add cloud services to its portfolio. Thus far, WTG’s cloud vendors include Latisys, Telesphere, 8×8, Telcentris and AB&T.
