For the 15th consecutive reporting period, the largest U.S. wireless operator has ranked highest in network quality in the Northeast region.
“Verizon Wireless achieves fewer customer-reported problems with dropped calls, initial connections, transmission failures and late text messages, compared with regional average,” J.D. Power and Associates said Thursday.
Verizon Wireless also ranked highest in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest and West regions while U.S. Cellular received the top honor in the North Central region for the 13th consecutive reporting period.
Conducted between July and December 2011, the wireless network quality performance study was based on responses from more than 27,000 wireless customers.
Another J.D. Power and Associates study announced earlier this year found that Verizon Wireless ranked highest in customer-care performance. The mobile-phone giant received a score of 762 on a 1,000-point scale ahead of its smaller competitors, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile USA.
