Voiceserve Inc., an Internet telephony software and service provider, last week reporting bringing home a modest profit for the quarter ending Dec. 31.

In the third quarter of its 2012 fiscal year, Voiceserve reported net earnings of $179,599 on revenues of $1.38 million. In the year-ago period, Voiceserve posted a net loss of $42,407 on revenues of $1.26 million.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, Voiceserve’s net loss widened to $990,148, or $0.02 per share, from a loss of $510,321 or $0.01 per share.

“Our Voipswitch software sales into the wholesale/retail markets continue to be steady, despite the global economic slowdown,” Voiceserve CEO Michael Bibelman said in a statement.

“In addition recurring revenue generated from our traditional one-time, software sales to VoIP operators purchasing our turnkey software is growing. Just six months ago, our hosted solution, which offers operators an option to pay for our software on a monthly basis rather than an upfront one-time fee, stood at approximately $12,000 per month,” Bibelman said. “Today, that revenue source has grown to approximately $55,000 per month and is expected to continue its growth pace in the foreseeable future.”
