Sprint Business this week introduced a toll-free SIP service that lets customers use their own SIP trunks to route traffic and share capacity — at no additional charge.
The product delivers inbound toll-free calls over SIP trunking and Sprint’s MPLS network. The toll-free calls originate in the PSTN but are turned into IP packets, which eliminates the need for expensive gateways and bridges, local access lines and multiple providers.
"Sprint’s SIP Toll Free solution offers businesses complete control over their inbound toll-free calls, putting call management and more efficient routing and termination decisions into their hands," said Monnie McGaffigan, Sprint’s vice president of wireline, international and strategic alliances. "Our customers can now rely on the features and capabilities of their own enterprise communication system, thanks to network convergence, without having to incur legacy carrier costs."
SIP Toll Free is available through Sprint Business, which targets enterprises, SMBs and government agencies through channel partners.
