An iPhone may have caught on fire after a plane landed in Sydney, Australia.
Regional Express, Australia’s largest independent regional airline, on Friday revealed “a passenger’s mobile phone started emitting a significant, amount of dense smoke, accompanied by a red glow” following a flight from Lismore to Sydney.
The company said it followed safety procedures, resulting in the extinguishment of the red glow. In a news release, Regional Express provided a picture of the mobile device, which appears to be Apple’s iPhone and was turned over to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau for inspection.
No one was hurt during the incident.
This isn’t the first time there’s been a report of an iPhone catching fire.
