Systems integrator Dimension Data on Monday debuted a managed-services platform for enterprises’ video deployments.
The offering Managed Services for Visual Communications provides oversight for everything from consulting, installation and implementation to maintenance and management. It’s aimed at midsized, multinational and global corporations and works with on-premise, managed cloud and public cloud video products.
“Although it is possible for organizations to handle video in-house, it can be very costly, time consuming and extremely burdensome for companies to do so,” said Scott Cruikshank, Dimension Data’s director of converged communications.
Managed Services for Visual Communications even gives end-users a video help desk to show employees which devices to use, how to conduct point-to-point video conferencing and join video bridges.
“This goes a long way to help drive usage and adoption, and return on investment for our clients,” Cruikshank said.
Dimension Data is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, with offices in more than 50 countries, including the United States. Japan-based service provider NTT Communications bought Dimension Data last year for $3.2 billion as a way to get into the booming enterprise cloud market.
