The gadget doesnt officially go on sale until this Friday, but some customers apparently already have what millions of smartphone fanatics around the world may crave: Apples iPhone 4S.
Citing images of the iPhone 4S posted by readers of Macerkopf.de., several customers in Germany already have received the new phones, MacRumors reported.
If pre-orders are any indication, Apples smartphone will be the hottest-selling gadget on the planet. Apple on Monday announced that pre-orders of the iPhone 4S topped 1 million in the first 24 hours that the device was available, representing the most pre-orders for any device the company has launched.
The Silicon Valley giant has been criticized for not unveiling a full-blown iPhone 5 last week, but if these pre-orders are any indication, most people aren’t worried about it.
In the U.S., the iPhone 4S will be available at 245 Apple retail stores on Friday, Oct. 14. The iPhone 4S also will be sold at the Apple Online Store, select Best Buy, Target and Walmart stores, and through certain Apple authorized resellers as well as through the three largest U.S. wireless operators: Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint.
