Masergy Communications, a global provider of secure, virtualized network services focusing on large companies, on Thursday introduced the Marketplace,” providing customers information and access to services from enterprise-focused solution providers that are connected to its network.
Plano, Texas-based Masergy said the Marketplace offers businesses an alternative to having to choose a single vendor or managing multiple service providers.
Our clients always have the option to work with whatever technology partner they prefer,” said John Dumbleton, Masergys senior vice president of business development, in a statement. The Masergy Marketplace simply makes it easier for our customers to investigate the products and services available from solution providers already connected to our network to create custom solutions for their business.”
Masergy, a facilities-based MPLS service provider that sells primarily to global enterprises, has partnered with 10 companies that offer a range of services, including cloud computing, voice, video and data center services. Some partners include Equinix (data center), Datapipe (cloud computing), OneStream Networks (voice solutions) and Telx (data center).
Andy Singleton, Masergys director of product development, told us partners must be interconnected with Masergys network.
We are going to be adding quite a few [partners] as we move along,” said Singleton, who further explained that the company is pretty careful who we go after.”
Singleton said Masergy developed relationships with some of its Marketplace partners through the companys network of distribution partners, whom primarily include systems integrators. Some of Masergys large distribution partners include Avant Communications and Bridgepointe Technologies.
Last month, a private equity investment firm, ABRY Partners, completed the acquisition of Masergy for an undisclosed price.
