SMBs will spend almost $16 billion on wireline voice services by 2015, according to new research from In-Stat.
That figure will represent nearly 50 percent of all spending in the wireline voice category. It also shows that wireline voice, while not growing in a significant manner, is holding steady across all sizes of business, said In-Stat analyst Greg Potter. However, Potter said, the international long-distance services segment could be vulnerable due to VoIP alternatives.
Even though the total dollar spend remains high, we see negative growth over the forecast period,” Potter said.
Among vertical markets, the hospitality and food industries will spend the most on wireline voice services, reaching $2 billion by 2012. Spending by government agencies will amount to $4.7 billion by 2015, In-Stat found.
