Level 3 Communications on Wednesday announced signing multi-year agreements with Cox Communications to deliver high-speed IP and transport services.
Level 3 also said it is expanding the capabilities made available through its wholesale partner program, enabling Cox to use and resell Level 3s services.
Furthermore, Cox will purchase additional dark fiber from Level 3 in order to expand its backbone and support the growth of its broadband network.
In a press release, Level 3 said the agreements build upon a relationship the companies have had for more than 10 years. Level 3 also noted the companies have agreed on terms and conditions under which they will exchange IP traffic between their backbone networks.
To ensure the optimal quality of Cox services, we must regularly expand and enhance our network capacity, capabilities and reach,” said Jay Rolls, Coxs senior vice president of technology, in a statement. The strategic relationship with Level 3 allows us to bolster our network and more effectively deliver voice, video and data products to homes and businesses.”
