A 91-year-old Naples, Fla., woman claims she has been paying Comcast for Internet access for four years even though she doesnt own a computer and never signed up for the service.
Lucille Freshman, who resides at a senior living facility, told the Naples Daily News she never signed up for Internet service. But Comcast disagrees and says the woman has gone right ahead and paid for the service for four years.
The brouhaha started after Freshmans daughter, Mary Brett, took over her mothers finances over the Memorial Day weekend and learned her mom was paying around $45 a month plus late fees for an Internet service she couldnt use.
Brett closed the account immediately and told Comcast her mom doesnt have a computer or modem, according to the report.
Comcast gave her different answers as to what happened, but eventually offered Freshman a $1,049.10 refund.
A spokesperson for the cable giant said the offer was generous, the newspaper reported, but Brett had a difference of opinion. She has brought the dispute to the local media and others, including local government.
Security and UCaaS and SD-WAN, the triple-headed monster, dominated the news last week. https://t.co/Yoq7yrjhkf
