Level 3 Communications, Inc. on Thursday announced renewing an agreement with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, the Chicago-based organization that provides healthcare coverage for roughly 98 million members.
The terms of the two-year agreement call for Level 3 to offer content delivery network and other managed services, including managed Ethernet access and protection against distributed denial-of-service attacks to independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies across the United States. Level 3 said it also will continue to provide the association voice, video and data services.

Over the Level 3 network, Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies can support their customers with highly efficient customer service portals and contact center solutions while innovating with cloud computing applications, unified communications, and even regulatory compliance software.”
