Arizona regulators recently approved AT&Ts $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA.
California is among about a handful of other states that have expressed an interest in reviewing a merger that also must be approved by the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Communications Commission. Other states that have indicated an interest in reviewing the transaction are Hawaii, Louisiana and West Virginia, according to The National Journal.
In a filing with the FCC in early June, AT&T noted that the merger already had drawn support from the governors of 17 states. Now, more than two dozen governors support the merger, The National Journal said.
