Hosted contact center provider inContact announced this week a strategic distribution partnership with Siemens Enterprise Communications where in it will power the manufacturers recently announced cloud contact center offer. In addition, an affiliate of Siemens Enterprise Communications has made a strategic investment in inContact.
Under the agreement, Siemens Enterprise Communications will be the exclusive master distributor for the inContact cloud contact center software portfolio in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and will deliver the solutions under the Siemens Enterprise Communications OpenScape Cloud Contact Center” brand name. Siemens launched in March its OpenScape Cloud Services for small and medium businesses for sale exclusively through its reseller channel on a private-label basis. Siemens Enterprise Communications also will resell the inContact portfolio in the United States, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Siemens Enterprise Communications, a joint venture of Siemens AG and the Gores Group, provides UC solutions to more than a million customers in more than 100 countries. It holds No. 1 market positions in Europe, Latin America and India.
An affiliate of Siemens Enterprise Communications made an investment of nearly $24 million in inContact at a price of $3.32 per share of restricted common stock. As a result, Siemens Enterprise Communications CEO Hamid Akhavan will join the inContact board of directors.
inContact CEO Paul Jarman said the equity investment will enable the company to extend its network and platform around the world.
Under the distribution agreement with Siemens, inContact will build cloud infrastructure in Europe and will train the Siemens team to sell, implement and support cloud contact center customers.
Siemens agreed to pay a minimum of $15 million of net software revenue to inContact over a two-year timeframe, with $5 million committed in 2012 and $10 million committed in 2013.
InContacts chief marketing officer, Mariann McDonagh, said that Siemens 3,000 sales and support personnel as well as 3,000 channel partners around the will help inContact drive significant growth in the next several years.”
