The Technology Channel Association (TCA) announced Tuesday that Dana Topping, co-owner of master agency Intelisys, has been elected to the board of trustees for the group, which is a nonprofit organization for the advancement of the indirect sales channel in the communications services industry.
Topping also will serve on the associations Certified Telecommunications Professional (CTP) Committee. CTP, which launched Nov. 30, 2010, seeks to build an industry standard around technical concepts and business practices. The exam measures proficiency in various elements of the industry, including voice communications, industry history, Internet applications, telecommunications administration, core telecommunications concepts, data communications, network security/management and agent business best practices. More than 100 professionals have enrolled in the CTP program.
Topping fills a seat previously held by Ben Henkels, principal and founder of Communication Management Partners. Henkels played a critical role in the development of the CTP program and was the primary architect behind its design and content.
Topping joined Intelisys as an equity partner in 2006 through the merger with his company, Resource Communications, which specialized in designing network solutions for Fortune 100 companies. He currently focuses on building and shaping Intelisys’ vision through innovative solutions in an era of convergence. He shares executive management responsibility with Intelisys co-founders Rick Sheldon and Rick Dellar. Together with the Intelisys strategy team, they are responsible for developing sales, support, and value-added applications that drive revenue growth.
Intelisys services include a complete selection of carrier voice and data services, wireless and wired access, auxiliary services such as voice and Web conferencing, mobility solutions, professional service offerings and Intelisys proprietary telecom asset management tool, Audex.
We are excited to have Dana join the Board, as his vast experience in the channel and his career achievements will undoubtedly prove to be of tremendous value to our growing organization,” said TCA President Dany Bouchedid, CEO of COLOTRAQ, in a press statement.
I am excited to work with all of these very knowledgeable Board members. I believe strongly in the mission and vision TCA has for the industry,” Topping said in a press statement.
