TelePacific Communications on Friday announced completing the acquisition of NextWe, Inc., a broadband fixed wireless carrier doing business as Covad Wireless.
Through the acquisition, TelePacific has picked up 3,500 broadband fixed wireless business customers in California, Nevada and suburban Chicago.
Los Angeles-based TelePacific said it now controls a WiMAX-featured wireless broadband network, a licensed microwave backhaul network, and a high bandwidth wireless network operating in licensed LMDS spectrum.
TelePacific said it extended employment offers to all Covad Wireless employees.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
