Avaya Inc.s unified communications platform now targets mid-sized enterprises, and is available for sale through channel partners.
On Wednesday, Avaya said it has configured Avaya Aura just for companies and organizations with multiple locations. The new Avaya Branch products, for example, give branch offices with up to 380 employees a gateway that adapts legacy infrastructure to SIP so users can take advantage of audio, video and Web conferencing and collaboration. Avaya B5800 Branch Gateway further provides auto attendant and call controls; itll be available later this month.
Meanwhile, Avaya has put its Aura applications onto one virtualized server for mid-sized enterprises with between 250 and 1000 employees. The updated product features Avaya Aura Session Manager, which oversees all SIP endpoints; Avaya Aura Presence; Avaya Aura Session Border Controller, for secure connections among IP and mobile devices inside and outside the firewall; and an expanded collaboration platform; and new conferencing phones, thanks to the Konftel acquisition earlier this year. Avayas Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprises 6.1 will be available in April.
Finally, Avaya is offering customers that upgrade to its Aura portfolio a new software investment protection policy. The idea is to allow customers with subscriptions to move up to like-for-like licenses at no charge; users who dont have subscriptions still can save between 25 and 80 percent on standard Avaya Aura upgrade pricing, Avaya said.
