Agents Share Best Practices at Peer-to-Peer Mixer

CHANNEL PARTNERS More than 60 independent agents and subagents attended the Peer-to-Peer Networking Mixer Monday at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.  

Sponsored by master agency PlanetOne Communications, the Peer-to-Peer Mixer is a favorite of attendees, offering them a chance to network and share best practices in a vendor-neutral environment.

Agents engaged in a half hour of casual networking over cocktails and appetizers followed by roundtable discussions, on topics including emerging opportunities (cloud, managed and VoIP services), suppliers, sales and marketing, growth/transformation and contracts. There was also a discussion table where anything goes. The tables were moderated by agent peers and also subject matter experts, including Neil S. Ende, managing partner, Technology Law Group; Cameron Larson, principal, Astound Communications; Colombo DiSalvatore, owner, C4 Communications LLC; Edward Terry, director of Strategic Alliances, Expert Technology Associates and Bill Leutzinger, partner, Telecom Medic.

Among the primary discussion points were referral marketing and social media marketing in the sales and growth roundtables. In the supplier table, hot topics included master agents and their support tools and commission tracking platforms. The emerging technologies roundtable discussed energy, video conferencing and cloud. At the contracts table, the discussion centered around customer auto renewals.

Agent Mike Sachs of Dollar Phone won a prize drawing for an AppleTV set-top box from event sponsor PlanetOne.
