tw telecom Touts New Distributed Channel-Support Structure

CHANNEL PARTNERS Prior to January 1, if you were one of tw telecoms (Booth #1704 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo) agents or subagents, you were assigned one channel sales manager with whom to work. That arrangement worked fine in many instances, but it had its problems; particularly, if you were a subagent of a big master agency, you could potentially be doing business in a geography several time zones away from the person who was supposed to be supporting you. But thats no longer the case.

All agents are still assigned a primary channel sales manager, but now any agent is free to work with the CSM that’s closest to them, whenever it’s convenient. tw telecom says initial feedback has been excellent. In addition, local CSMs have been able to reignite tw telecom interest from the far reaches of some large, widely distributed sub-agent bases that had previously been inactive. This new distributed support structure has improved tw telecom’s agent experience, the company says, while at the same time uncovered new sales opportunities.

tw telecom launched its Converged Services portfolio last year, and the company, customers, and authorized representatives alike are excited about the possibilities. Converged Service provides businesses with the ultimate in flexibility, simplicity and efficiency by enabling them to combine SIP-based voice services, Internet Access, Security and IP VPN into a single, fully managed solution. The company is migrating all of its integrated services options into the Converged platform. Now agents can go to the pricing portal and validate service addresses and generate Converged single-site quotes in minutes, which greatly improves efficiency and expands revenue opportunities.

Finally, the tw telecom Channel Team is pleased to announce its first channel recognition program the tw telecom Channel Ambassador Club.  Authorized Representatives earn membership by being in tw telecom’s Top Five revenue contributors through the first six months of 2011.  Ambassador’s Club members will fly to Denver in August for fun, recognition, and C-level interaction.  This year’s Club program includes participation in tw telecom’s Annual Charity Invitational Golf Tournament at The Country Club at Castle Pines or a guided fly fishing trip, and a group dinner and exclusive briefing/roundtable with tw telecom senior executives.
