Energent Branches Into Solar Power

Energent (Booth #1714 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo) is making significant strides as a partner-driven utilities agency.

Energent, the energy division of Commerce Consulting Corp., which owns World Telecom Group (WTG), said this week it has branched into solar energy thanks to a partnership with EcoMotion. EcoMotion, a California-based consultancy, is among the first in the energy sector to offer agents an independent hardware, installation and financing platform for solar projects. The company boasts more than 25 years in the industry, and offers deployment planning, financial analysis, site inspection, bid specification, funding, project management and ongoing performance evaluation.

Best of all, Energent agents can help their clients switch from utility power to clean solar energy, and expect to receive between $10,000 and $100,000 in commissions per sale. At the same time, customers tend to save 20-60 percent on their energy costs. Ideal candidates include corporations, schools and cities. Hot states include California, Delaware, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Nationwide coverage is available, and new federal and state incentives, plus certain types of financing, are making energy sales more attractive.

In general, said WTG/Energent CEO Vince Bradley, selling fixed-rate electricity is easy because, unlike telecom, it doesnt require network design, provisioning, or complex paperwork or customer service.

Many of our agents have been experiencing excellent results when adding energy to the list of utilities they represent to their clients,” said Bradley.

Besides power, Energent also lets agents sell natural gas and demand-side management. Energent works with 10 electricity providers including Spark Energy and Tiger Natural Gas.
