The health care market represents one of the largest, fastest-growing sectors of the U.S. economy, making up about 17 percent of the countrys gross domestic product. And in 2010, doctors, dentists and other such providers spent more on IT than they did the previous year. More medical experts are buying tablet computers, laptops, smartphones, servers, and data storage and back-up gear as they convert to technologies including electronic medical records, according to CompTIA Inc. (Booth #1236 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo) in its recent Healthcare IT Market report.
All of that demand adds up to attractive opportunity for IT service providers in the indirect channel.
