ClearOne today unveiled its two latest USB speakerphones designed for personal desktop use in organizations using Microsoft Lync or Skype for audio conferencing via Windows personal computers.
ClearOne introduced the CHAT 70-U (for Lync) and CHAT 60-U (for Skype) at the Enterprise Connect conference in Orlando, Fla. Both feature integrated call controls, including an end-call button, on the device. The new models are also equipped with propriety ClearOne technologies enabling natural conversation without the clipping, echo, noise or tinny sound many people associate with speakerphone use.
Both new CHAT speakerphones, created expressly for VoIP applications using PCs or Unified Communications software, are designed for ease of use and superior voice quality. They feature raised, push-button controls for speaker volume, mute, and call hook and include a blue LED which lights when a call is in progress. Just slightly larger than a typical computer mouse, the CHAT 70-U and CHAT 60-U incorporate ClearOnes HDConference technologies, which provide acoustic echo cancellation, noise cancellation, and automatic audio level control, all critical to allowing natural, free-flowing conversation and producing clear, rich sound quality, the company said.
The new two CHAT units are USB-powered and require no external power connection. While specifically designed for Lync or Skype use, they also enhance the audio for other PC and web-based conferencing solutions, the company said. Both models will be available at the beginning of Q2 2011. The CHAT 70-U (for Lync) is priced at $159.99; the CHAT 60-U (for Skype) is priced at $149.99.
Also today in Orlando, ClearOne unveiled Collaborate, an all-in-one voice, video, and data collaboration console for organizations using unified communications software or Web services to handle voice, video and data communications. Delivering what the company calls true plug-n-play simplicity in a business solution for video collaboration, the new ClearOne Collaborate allows small groups in an executive office or conference room to converse and see each other while simultaneously viewing data from applications, websites, or other local or network sources.
The system, ClearOnes first to incorporate video capability, features an integrated ClearOne HDConference audio conferencing system, a 46-inch HD LCD monitor, an HD USB video camera, and a built-in quad core PC with Windows pre-installed. Collaborate is also available without an operating system for enterprises that have customized or bulk licensed software.
Collaborate, scheduled for shipment in late June 2011, is available in three mounting options: for wall mount, for a credenza, or with a media stand. A fourth option, which includes all components while allowing customers to use their existing video display and PC, is also offered. Pricing ranges from $3,199 to $17,999 depending upon the configuration and options.
