Appia Communications on Tuesday will release the latest version of Video Communicator.
Version 4.5 provides better video compression to reduce bandwidth consumption and performs better over wireless networks, Appia said. The upgrade also comes with managed configuration for lower-end computers. Plus, it features another camera businesses can use for product demonstrations and teaching, for example.
Perhaps the best part, though, is that resellers now may brand Appia Video Communicator.
“With the explosive growth in video communication, this option will appeal to service providers and others looking for easy entry into the video market,” said Victor von Schlegell, Appia’s president.
Other changes to the product include a simplified user interface, intelligent self-monitoring and load balancing, and improved interoperability with H.323 video conferencing systems.
Appia specializes in managed services for SMBs. Based in Michigan, Appia has locations throughout the country.
