While perhaps not as much in the know as he used to be, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak says the white iPhone is on its way very soon.
Wozniak, in an interview with Engadget, said the pale version of Apples darling has been in the works for a long time, but has been delayed due to a flaw that allows light from the cameras flash bulb to leak too much light. The other issue is the proximity sensor in the latest version of the iPhone, which supposedly disables the touch screen if you hold the device to close to your face.
Wozniak didnt have a release date to announce, but said the issues have been taken care of and he expects youll be hearing about the white iPhone any time now. He told Engadget that he actually had a chance to test a white iPhone himself, and experienced the problems.
Apple and CEO Steve Jobs have never gone on record saying what has caused three separate delays, the first being last summer. Internal company data at Best Buy and AT&T has leaked out in recent days, suggesting that youll be able to get your hands on a white iPhone late next month or in early March.
When it comes right down to it, this is more about fashion and choice than it is technology, but hey, if someone is more likely to buy a white iPhone because it goes with their outfit, why wouldnt Apple comply?
