CompTIA Kicks Off 2011 With New Board Led By Autotasks Godgart

CompTIA has a new board of directors.

The trade association, which represents IT companies, said on Wednesday Bob Godgart now is the organizations chairman. Godgart works as chairman of Autotask Corp., a hosted software provider, and previously served as vice chairman of the CompTIA board.

Godgart succeeds Bob OMalley, CEO of InFocus Corp. OMalley held his CompTIA position for two years and remains on the board as immediate past chair.

Were extremely fortunate to have a board that represents the full spectrum of the IT channel,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO of CompTIA, in a prepared statement. Though theyre all involved in the day-to-day business of IT, each board member offers a unique perspective on the issues our industry faces and the solutions to address them. This diversity assures that the programs we develop, the initiatives we support and the positions we champion will have strong support across the industry.”

To that point, CompTIA members also chose two vice chairmen for the 2011 board. The first is Chuck Lennon, president of consultancy TeamLogic IT; the second is Robert Stegner, senior vice president of North America marketing for SYNNEX Corp., a business process services company.

Other IT industry players elected to the CompTIA board of directors for 2011 are:

  • Nancy K. Hedrick, president and CEO of CSI Technology Outfitters, a provider of software and technology platforms to public-sector markets
  • Lester Keizer, CEO of XiloCore, a provider of business continuity and recovery that IT channel partners can sell to SMBs
  • Linda Lynch, president of KI Technology Group, which serves businesses
  • Kerry McDonough, U.S. director for small business sales at Cisco Systems Inc.
  • Michael K. Menegay, CEO and president of Mobile Armor Inc., which specializes in data encryption and mobile device management technology
  • Mike Parrottino, vice president of Personal Systems Group Sales and Business Management for HP
  • Fernando Quintero, vice president of channel sales and operations for the Americas at McAfee
  • Janet Schijns, vice president of the Business Solutions Group at Verizon
  • Dan Shapero, senior vice president of marketing at Kaseya, a provider of automated IT systems management software
  • MJ Shoer, founder, president and virtual CTO of Jenaly Technology Group, a provider of outsourced IT services to SMBs

With all of the change going on in the channel, it is more important than ever for CompTIA to provide visionary leadership for our members and the global IT community,” Godgart said. We have assembled a tremendous board and leadership team at CompTIA, and I am honored to chair the organization as we take on this challenge.”
