Alteva is adding personalization capabilities to its hosted VoIP services.
The unified communications (UC) provider has launched Local Anywhere, which assigns multiple direct inward dialing, or DID, numbers to one VoIP desk phone. That way, Alteva’s hosted VoIP users can see which phone number is calling and decide how to treat the call. Outbound caller IDs, too, are assigned to each phone number, so people receiving the calls are less likely to ignore them. That’s especially useful for companies trying to reach customers, Alteva said.
“In todays economy, anything you have that makes you more efficient makes you the better business,” said William Bumbernick, Alteva’s chief innovation officer. Implementing cutting-edge solutions to maximize efficiency and provide a higher level of customer service is what is going to make an organization stand out amongst the competition.”
That was the case for Alteva customer Abigail Michaels, a company that provides hotel concierge-style services to luxury condos and residential building across the country. Abigail Michaels wanted to switch to hosted VoIP, but couldn’t find the right product because the company needed employees to know how to answer the phone, depending upon which property was calling. The company also needed to be able to choose an outbound line directly associated with each property.
With a traditional phone system, we could have a different phone line designated for each of the companies we represent on one desk phone, but that was not an existing feature in a hosted VoIP solution,” said Greg Flood, director of strategy and operations at Abigail Michaels Concierge. Other hosted VoIP companies were not able to provide this option to us, so we were thrilled when Alteva told us about Local Anywhere. This solution is ideal for our needs. It has enabled us to provide better service to our customers.”
Rob Molinaro, vice president at Chorus Communications, the consultant that introduced Local Anywhere to Abigail Michaels, said, One of the differentiators that Alteva provides over traditional telecom service providers is that they offer solution sales, not just out-of-the-box commodity services. Their ability to build custom solutions around specific business practices creates value for our customers, and value for us as consultants.”
Local Anywhere offers several features, including the ability to have local lines automatically rerouted to a main site; high-definition phones that virtually eliminate dropped or missed calls; and reduced desktop clutter, thanks to a single phone set that handles multiple DIDs. Alteva, based in Philadelphia, runs a channel program that offers options for partners of all sizes.
