Aastra USA, which makes unified communications products for enterprises, says it now offers IP phones that work with the new Microsoft Lync platform.
Aastra joins a number of other vendors in making such an announcement.
The Aastra 6721ip and 6725ip phones can operate independently from a PC; however, the 6725ip model boasts a USB cable so it can connect to a PC and integrate with Microsoft Lync Server 2010. Both versions come with an interface on a full-color, 3.5-inch LCD screen; easy features access through navigation keys; and wideband audio for call clarity.
Were excited about this opportunity to work with Microsoft to deliver compelling UC solutions to meet the demanding needs of todays workers to communicate in a variety of ways,” said Simon Beebe, vice president of product management for Aastra.
Microsoft Lync is the software giants version of a unified communications and collaboration platform. Lync connects Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and Exchange, allowing the information, contact and communications capabilities of all three to work together.
