Users of Skype-to-Skype calling now have the ability to add a video component with VoSKYs Multimedia Touchscreen Videophone.
The VoSky videophone is a Skype-certified multifunctional phone that includes a webcam, speaker and 7-inch LCD color touchscreen optimized for Skype-to-Skype video and voice calls. Expanding on its multimedia capabilities, it also includes a music player, video player and digital photo frame.
The standalone device does not require a PC users simply connect the device to the Internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi and follow the setup wizard. To make a call, users sign in to their Skype account or create a new one.
When the device is not being used for calls, users can listen to Internet radio via SHOUTcast Radio or view photos, news, weather and sports via FrameChannel. The device also plays MP3s and videos.
The VoSKY videophone also can be used to call both landline and mobile numbers at Skypes global calling rates, either ad hoc or through a Skype subscription plan. Users also can purchase a Skype Online number to enable users to receive calls on the device from landline or mobile phones.
VoSKYs technology is interoperable with a number of communications vendors including Avaya, Mitel, Shoretel and Altigen. The companys PBX-to-Skype gateways have been tested for compatibility and have received certification and endorsements from these vendors. The company also has an affiliate program, the VoSKY Influencer Program, for consultants and other influencers, as well as a channel partner program, the VoSKY Premier Partner Program, for resellers and systems integrators.
