It wasnt up long, but the long-awaited and highly anticipated HTC Merge smartphone made a brief appearance on the Verizon Wireless website Thursday, only to be taken down a short time later.
The Merge, which has also gone by the name Lexicon,” features a 5MP camera, 800MHz processor and a 3.8-inch touchscreen with a full QWERTY keyboard. You get 4G of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. It might not compete with the very top-of-the-line smartphones since its processor is a little slower than some and it has less memory, but it does run on Froyo, the latest update to the Android operating system (2.2.).
No word yet on pricing, but the brief website appearance makes us assume this phone will be available before the holiday season is out.
