On the market only three months, the price of the BlackBerry Torch for AT&T has already been cut in half. The carrier is now offering the high-end smartphone for just $99.99 with a new, two-year service agreement. Youll also need to sign up for data service, with a minimum plan starting at $15 per month.
This is now certainly one of the lowest price smartphones in its class. The Torch opened to generally positive reviews, but BlackBerrys market share has been dwindling and parent Research In Motion has been either cutting prices on many of its phones or introducing them with more friendly price tags in the last couple of months. Take the Bold 9780, for instance, which is now on sale for just $99.99 in Canada and will likely carry a similar price when it debuts in the U.S. later this month.
The Torch runs on RIMs most updated operating system, BlackBerry 6. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.2-inch touchscreen, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera, social networking capabilities and more.
AT&T, CenturyLink and Connectwise are among those adding drama to telecom, IT and the channel since last fall. https://t.co/YTBVQGjWqt
