Clearwire and its 4G partner, Sprint, are rolling out WiMAX service to the Big Apple. CLEAR 4G is described as the take-it-with-you Internet service for businesses and consumers, offering speeds several times faster than 3G.
In New York, CLEAR covers more than 11 million people. Regionally, service covers six counties in North Jersey from Middlesex to Bergen County and the five boroughs of New York City. In New Brunswick, CLEAR covers more than 630,000 people. Service extends as far north as Woodbridge and as far south as Monmouth Junction and east to Old Bridge and west to Piscataway.

Sprint and Clearwire also announced that the new service is now available in Hartford/New Haven, Conn., and Tampa, Fla.
