The new Motorola Droid Pro, which supports global wireless networks in 220 countries, will reportedly put a hole in your wallet.
The website Droid Life uncovered a Verizon Wireless test site for the device, which indicates it will sell for $299. Its hard to imagine why the phone would sell for $100 more than the iPhone and other top-of-the-line smartphones; perhaps this price does not include a mail-in rebate. Droid Life speculates that the price could stick if Verizon decides to price all of its new global roaming devices this way.
Theres no confirmation just yet on a release date, but most sites speculate the Droid Pro will be available for purchase from Verizon on Nov. 11. The device has a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with flash, and runs on Android 2.2, or Froyo.
Since its designed especially for the business traveler, some consider it to be a dagger to the heart of BlackBerry, calling it heaven” for anyone who wants to make the switch.
