Skype 3G for Android Now Available, But Unintended

Skype only last week released its app for all phones running on Android 2.1 or above, but already, some hacker has figured out a way to let you make 3G calls on your device. The software was only designed to let you make Wi-Fi calls. Before last week, the app was only available on Verizon phones.

All it takes is downloading an .apk file and youre set, according to a report on IntoMobile. Just uninstall the existing application, the site says, and install the modified app manually.

The new software the original app, not the hack allows you to use your Android phone on whatever wireless network you use and carry on a free Skype-to-Skype conversation with anyone on any platform that has a Skype app, including the Apple iPhone.
