Users of BlackBerry or Android smartphones now have access to the features of their Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP systems on their devices.
Toshiba America Information Systems Telecommunication Systems Division has added support for BlackBerry and Android devices, making them compatible with Toshibas Strata CIX VoIP business communication system via uMobility, a fixed mobile convergence application that expands unified communication capabilities.
Using uMobility, Strata CIX VoIP system users can now receive their business telephone calls directly on their smartphones, giving them one-number reach regardless of location. International calls are routed through the enterprise telephone system, allowing users to take advantage of corporate international calling plans rather than making international calls through higher-priced international cellular minutes.
By allowing their smartphones to function as a business telephone, users are able to access the devices telephone book contacts and call history functions. Users can also access features such as their office unified messaging solutions, message waiting indicator light and four-digit dialing.
uMobility also supports iPhones and devices running Windows Phone or Symbian operating systems.
