As promised, Motorola Inc. announced Wednesday the details of the final two specialization tracks Radio Solutions and Mobile Solutions of its new PartnerEmpower Program, launched for the combined Motorola Enterprise Mobility business in mid-March. The tracks will roll out in first quarter 2011.
The first of the three specializations Wireless Network Solutions was announced in mid-April for Motorola partners that specialize in wireless broadband, WLAN, security and VoIP technologies and solutions.
The Mobile Solutions track is for partners specializing in mobile computing, advanced data capture and RFID; certifications are available in each of those three areas, said Mike deVente, vice president of North American channels for Motorola.
The Radio Solutions track is for partners that specialize in two-way radios. deVente said there are certifications for digital and radio for retailers as well as one for manufacturers representatives (commissioned agents selling to local governments on Motorola paper).
The PartnerEmpower program helps channel partners develop a deeper knowledge and aligning rewards to partner investment time and/or money/MDF in developing such expertise. Significantly, partners will earn points for each specialization or certification earned and those will determine discounting, not simply volume as has been the case in the past.
deVente said the PartnerEmpower program is an evolution not a forklift” and is designed to keep the strengths of the legacy programs while bringing consistency across the programs. The synergies and efficiencies are going to result in better training and support,” he said.
Mobile Solutions partner Mike Stryczek, CEO of American Barcode and RFID, agreed. PartnerEmpower is a logical extension to the current Motorola channel program,” he said. The focused specialization tracks will benefit our business, as the program recognizes and rewards us for our investment and expertise in Motorola’s core mobile technologies and solutions.”
Motorola is kicking off a five-city road show to launch the new tracks with its partners. The channel team will be in Washington, D.C., Oct. 6-7; Chicago, Oct. 13-14; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Oct. 18-19; Dallas, Oct 26-27; and Las Vegas, Nov. 2-3.
