MegaPath has initiated a program under which new customers can receive Cisco IP phones for free.
For a limited time, SMB customers purchasing the companys unlimited or global Hosted Voice calling plans with a minimum of five lines will receive Cisco SPA 303-3 IP phones, featuring a high-resolution graphic display, for their employees.
The promotion, which will run through Dec. 31, is the second phase in MegaPaths integration with Covad and Speakeasy, which the company acquired earlier this year. The three companies now operate with a common product set, pricing and promotions across all three company sites, according to MegaPath.
MegaPath also has enhanced its Hosted Voice calling plans with a slew of features designed to increase user productivity, including Push to Talk, which enables point to point intercom ability between two phones in the same group and which can be used with Instant Group Call to simulate paging functionality; N-Way Calling, which gives users the ability to add up to 15 total call participants; Hoteling, which allows a user to log in as a guest on a host phone and use it as they would their normal desk phone; and Answer Confirmation, an enhancement to Simultaneous Ring and Sequential Ring that allows a user to prevent callers from leaving voice messages on personal cell phones when using Find Me/Follow Me features.
The new features are available at no cost. To gain access to the features, users simply must reboot their phones.
MegaPath also has added, for an additional fee, Instant Group Call, which allows users to instantly set up a conference bridge for up to 20 telephone numbers. Instant Group Call can also be used in conjunction with Push to Talk to simulate paging functionality.
