Recognizing the need to understand a technology before it can be sold effectively, Catalyst Telecom has launched a comprehensive educational program for its reseller customers on session initiation protocol, or SIP, technology.
The voice, video and data convergence distributor and Avayas largest distribution partner created the Get SIP Smart Solutions Guide, a program to better enable partners to sell the Avaya Aura communications platform. The guide is a reference tool providing an overview of the technology, user benefits, tips for the selling of and migrating to SIP, an in-depth overview of Avaya Aura and documented case studies, according to Catalyst.
The company also has launched a series of six Webinars to help resellers become more knowledgeable about SIP. Led by Jim Sevier, an expert in the convergence market, the Webinars cover every aspect of the technology, from SIP essentials to making the business case for Avaya Aura Session Manager.
Catalyst hopes the education push will enable resellers to better inform their customers about the features and benefits of SIP, helping them to close more deals and increase the likelihood of selling the complete Avaya Aura solution.
The company has also created a Web portal which provides additional educational information and a link to valuable resources, including the Web seminar series.
