The SMB Nation VoIP Workshop promises to help VARs make sense of the VoIP opportunity. The workshop is a key content track as part of the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, Sept. 20-22, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, in Washington, D.C.
In addition, SMB Nation is sponsoring an exhibit area within the Channel Partners Conference & Expo hall. Notable sponsors include CallTower, Qwest, NEC, IBM, Apptix, D&H Distributing, HEROware and Aspen University.
The SMB Nation VoIP Workshop will be led by SMB Nation CEO and President Harry Brelsford, Dean of Aspen Universitys School of Technology as well as a tech guru and advocate for the benefits competitive telecommunications technologies and services can bring to VARs and their small and medium business customers.

His detailed presentation will review how to become a hosted VoIP provider, sell the customer, order equipment, configure the softswitch, configure the system and invoice the customer. Plus, the entire process of using VoIP to create your own will be done live” during Williams session.
Later in the program, Brelsford will conduct a course on the cloud. Based on material covered during a 16-week Pocket MBA course, this session is designed to provide attendees with the intellectual capital required to compete effectively in a demanding and rewarding marketplace.
The final session on Monday will explore selling VoIP in the exacting SMB marketplace with speakers from Cisco and New Global Telecom.
There are six VoIP Workshop sessions on Tuesday, Sept. 21, including a keynote address on telepresence by Clinton Gatewood, vice president of corporate development at Vu Telepresence.
Other sessions include a best-practices session with Brelsford, Chris Bangs, director of Telephonation for SMB Nation, and Jay Weiss, founder of ComputerHMO. NEC and IBM will present a session on enterprise-class unified communications.
Bob Barnes, executive vice president of sales, marketing and business development for CallTower, will lead the final session, an examination of unified communications in the cloud.
