Curious whether Motorolas Droid 2 is for you? The highly anticipated follow-up to the first version of the Droid seems to be getting good reviews on the Verizon Wireless network. Thats because, according to Boy Genius Report, the Droid 2 has the lowest smartphone return rate at Big Red.
For one thing, dropped calls have proven not to be a problem. At one point, the blogosphere was rife with complaints that the Droid 2, on Verizons network, couldnt maintain a signal. Mobile Crunch said its signal was all over the board,” and Engadget wrote that all of the Droid 2 units it was trying had endlessly fluctuating bar counts.”
But the troubles seem to have been overblown or isolated (or fixed by Motorola/Verizon without anyone knowing) because, as Boy Genius Report is noting, the Droid 2 has one of the lowest dropped-call rates on the Verizon network. Whatever the solution, Motorola and Verizon seem to have avoided an Antennagate” debacle like the one Apple Inc. recently faced thanks to the iPhone 4.
The Droid 2, which went on sale in the U.S. in August, features Googles Android 2.2 operating system, an enhanced QWERTY keyboard, 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities, intuitive social messaging, ultra high-speed Web browsing and Adobe Flash 10.1.
