Knowing a good market opportunity when it sees it, MSP application provider N-able Technologies has formed a partnership with IBM to integrate Lotus Foundations into its popular N-central remote monitoring dashboard.
Users of N-central now have the ability to monitor and manage Lotus Foundations applications from one central interface, streamlining the process to improve operational efficiencies.
The N-central dashboard is the single pane of glass the managed service providers uses to remotely monitor and manage all of their customers devices,” said Derik Belair, N-ables vice president of marketing and business development. They see all of their customers listed, all their key devices and whats going well with their networks and whats not.
IBM joins a healthy ecosystem that N-able fosters,” he added.
N-able works with many vendors to integrate their technologies into the N-central dashboard, but the IBM relationship is different: The relationship opens the door to IBMs channel partners interested in entering the managed services fray which could mean thousands of new N-able customers and paves the way for further technology relationships between the two vendors.
Weve been working with IBM for quite some time now, and IBM has a strong presence in the N-Able partner base,” Belair said. As we were discussing our technology roadmap and our interaction with IBM, we both realized that Lotus Foundation was the first piece in a much larger puzzle. IBM reached out to us to be part of their early beta programs and to talk about potential points of integration, and we both quickly discovered lot of synergies and decided to take this first step.”
Belair hinted that as IBM jumps further into the cloud computing fray, N-able could play a role. Looking at cloud computing and the direction IBM is taking, [adding Lotus Foundations support] seems like a natural first step for us.
N-able is going down the road of working with cloud vendors and trying to create significant technology bonds, and IBM is a part of that,” he added.
Indeed, the cloud will be a major topic at N-ables partner summit, slated for October. Belair noted that N-able will be discussing the growing product interoperability in the cloud space with its partners. We are spending a lot of time talking with them to see what is working well and what is the direction they want us to take,” he added.
The Lotus Foundation interoperability has been rolled out to N-able partners, and N-able is offering IBM channel partners a One Dashboard to Manage All Things IT” freemium a one-year subscription to N-central hosted software free of charge in an effort to draw interest from those partners.
