DeltaCom’s Exclusive Agent Program Grows to 100

ITC^DeltaCom Inc., a carrier based in Huntsville, Ala., serving an eight-state region in the southeastern United States, announced Wednesday that it has added 100 agents to its Exclusive Agent Program, surpassing company expectations.

The new program was launched in February following significant cuts to its agent roster in December 2009.

The Exclusive Agent Program combines upfront commissions with no quota commitment. According to the company, this approach enables VARs, sales professionals, equipment vendors and integrators to more easily bundle DeltaCom services with their own offerings. DeltaCom has a fiber-optic network spanning approximately 12,483 route miles, and offers voice and data communications services, including local, long-distance, broadband data, Internet connectivity, wireless voice and data services, and customer premises equipment.

"The Deltacom program has truly been a win/win for both me and my company,” said Elisha Dudney of Selectel Communications, one of DeltaComs new agents. I can provide a more complete solution set to my clients, while partnering with a carrier who values customer care as strongly as I do. The upfront commission payments have helped me invest in other areas of my company, allowing me to grow my business more quickly."

Based on initial agent feedback, DeltaCom said it added new elements to the program, including updated training, new pricing plans, promotions and Web-based customer management tools. The company said it plans to continue its recruitment efforts.
