MSP-focused remote management and monitoring software vendor N-able Technologies has updated its N-compass performance reporting solution to include support for Microsofts SQL Server 2008 and its customization abilities.
In version 3.1 we made significant improvements through customization of reports,” said Derik Belair, vice president of marketing and business development at N-able. The new version supports SQL 2008 and the report builder thats part of that, so MSPs now have the ability to create custom reports for their end-user customers without having to have a certain level of developer knowledge.”
MSPs using N-compass 3.1 can utilize the managing and reporting capabilities of the latest version of SQL Server, as well as SQL Server 2005. In addition, they can author specific end-user reports through Microsoft Report Builder 2.0 providing a richer customer experience, Belair said.
Demonstrating value tends to be a challenge that many MSPs face. Customers get a bill, but normally theres not a lot of face time between the MSP and the customer,” he said. MSPs need to put their services front and center and demonstrate their value, but how best to do that?
Reporting forms one of the most important messages, but most of the reporting products available are typically strong just on the troubleshooting report. N-compass, though, aggregates all the data across the system and can store the data for as long as you need to, so MSPs can do more comprehensive business reporting,” Belair said.
Version 3.1 is available now as a free download for licensed MSPs enrolled in N-ables maintenance and support program. Its also available as an add-on to N-central, N-ables remote monitoring and maintenance platform, for $5,000.
