UC software vendor Mitel has released the latest version its Unified Communicator Advanced solution, giving BlackBerry users the ability access Mitel UC features through their smartphones.
The downloadable software client allows users single-portal access to all collaboration tools, including desk phone, soft phone, mobile devices, visual voice mail, secure instant messaging, presence, audio and Web conferencing, desktop video conferencing, document sharing and e-mail. The application uses location-based services that are natively present in a BlackBerry smartphone to automatically update status information and call routing preferences.
By facilitating access for enterprise BlackBerry smartphone users to their key business applications available from Mitel, UC Advanced Mobile helps simplify communication and collaboration between employees enabling true corporate mobility,” said Stephen Beamish, vice-president marketing and business development at Mitel, in a release. Employees can get instant access to corporate contact information, presence details, call history, visual voice mail and Dynamic Status settings, regardless of location.”
