Despite the wondrous success of the Apple iPhone, AT&T isnt about to fall behind in the Android race. The carrier this past weekend launched the Samsung Captivate.
The Captivate comes with a 4-inch touchscreen and HD video-recording capabilities. Its 5-megapixel camera comes with auto-focus and what the company calls a smile function. It features a 1Ghz Samsung Hummingbird processor.
The Captivate is able to use voice and data simultaneously. It also features Microsoft Direct Push e-mail, video text-messaging capabilities and a music player.
While its probably AT&Ts best Android offering yet, its drawing some criticism from some sites, like PC World, which is concerned that the carriers add-ons prove to be redundant” and annoying.”
Look for more smartphone offerings from Samsung, on other carriers like Sprint and Verizon Wireless, in months to come.
