Virtual network operator Nitel Inc. announced Wednesday that it is ranked No. 5 on the Crains Chicago Business Fast 50 list for the second consecutive year.
Crains cited Nitels five-year revenue growth of 3,337 percent in placing the company fifth on this years Fast 50 list, which is based on 2009 revenue.
The Crains Fast Fifty is comprised of companies with headquarters in the six-county Chicago metro area (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will) with 2009 revenue of at least $20 million.
Founded in 1997, Nitel is based on Chicago with offices in Atlanta; Madison, Wis.; and Reno, Nev. The company provides wholesale MPLS, Ethernet, private line and Internet services with an emphasis on rural connectivity. As a virtual network operator, Nitel uses proprietary intelligence tools to aid procurement, installation and maintenance of services across more than 100 carrier networks.
